Maryville girls basketball adds another home win

MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Maryville girls basketball team was able to gain a senior night win over visiting Lathrop 52-33 on Jan. 29.

Sophomore Serena Sundell had 23 points on 60 percent shooting in the win and fellow sophomore Emily Cassavaugh added 14 points to the Spoofhounds total.

The ‘Hounds will stay at home for a matchup against MEC rival Chillicothe on Feb. 5.

Interfraternity Council promotes Greek unity

MARYVILLE, Mo. – Northwest Missouri State University‘s Interfraternity Council hosted interfraternity rec night on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Hughes Fieldhouse housed the proceedings where Greek men played video games, yard games and took place in other activities around the facility.

The goal of the evening was to promote Greek unity within the fraternities on campus. Because of the success of the first event, the council is in the process of planning a similar competition.

Missouri Hope continues to prepare future first responders

MARYVILLE, Mo. – Students in Northwest Missouri State University‘s emergency and disaster management program participated in the sixth annual Missouri Hope simulation on Oct. 6.

Missouri Hope simulates a real-life disaster to help participants in the major gain experience out of the classroom.

Northwest’s state of the art media facilities allows students to be hands-on with an active radio station. Along with the station, the university has six separate studios for students to produce audio samples for class.
